This is a 2 Day course that reviews all of the skills required to make first round hits with your precision rifle out to 750 yards and beyond in a variety of wind and other environmental conditions.

EFFECTIVE 01 JANUARY 2020, this will be a 2-Day Course. The prerequisites of having attended the 1-Day Precision Rifle Fundamental and 4-Day Precision Rifle (out to 800 yards, within the last 24 months) courses are unchanged.

Prerequisite Class(s): Completion of both the 1-Day Precision Rifle Fundamentals course and the 4-Day Precision Rifle course on the 800 yard range within the last 24 months.

ALL students must show photo ID at Sign-In, regardless of age!

This course will give returning students the opportunity to fine-tune their ballistic data, especially at longer distances that many of the public ranges do not provide. In the morning of Day 1 students will confirm their 100 yard zero including a shot calling exercise and then immediately start shooting from 500 yards and beyond.

On Day 2, students will confirm data at closer distances and shoot the Precision Rifle Skills Test in the afternoon.

This course represents a skill-builder covering the skills taught during the 4-day Precision Rifle course.

Note: It is highly recommended that you show up with the same gear and ammunition used during your Precision Rifle course. If you do not bring the same rifle and gear, and show up with an inappropriate rifle or inappropriate gear, you may be asked to rent an appropriate rifle from the Pro-Shop, or may not be able to take the Precision Rifle Skill Builder class.

Required Equipment:

• Bolt action or semi-automatic rifle in these recommended calibers: .224 Valkyrie, 6mm, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 WinMag, .308/7.62mm, .338 Lapua, or similar calibers capable of consistently shooting LESS than 1″ groups at 100 yards (sub-MOA)
  • Larger bore calibers such as .375 CheyTac, .408 CheyTac, .416 Barrett and .50 BMG and other similar calibers are NOT allowed
• Rifle must have mounted optics with with a MOA or MRAD-based reticle and finger adjustable Windage and Elevation turrets (.25 MOA or .1 MRAD adjustments/click values is sufficient – finer adjustments are not necessary)
• Lens covers or a scope cover
• Bipod or Backpack to act as a front rest
• Squeeze bag for use under the stock is recommended
• Rifle stock or chassis system with adjustments for length of pull and height of cheek piece is recommended

  • Match grade ammunition with the same lot number, manufacturer, bullet weight, etc.
  • You will NOT be able to take the course with two or more different types of ammunition!
  • NO armor piercing, steel jacketed, bi-metal, steel core, tracer, or incendiary bullets
  • Hand loads are acceptable for this class ONLY
• Eye protection (mandatory)
• Electronic hearing protection (mandatory)
• Rifle cleaning kit to include cleaning rod, bore guide, nylon brushes, jags, patches, solvents and lubricants
• Rifle maintenance kit that includes all torx and/or allen head wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. An adjustable torque wrench is recommended
• Optics cleaning kit, i.e. lens brush, lens pen, etc.
• Pens, pencil, notebook
• Databook
• Kestrel and/or Ballistics calculator, such as Applied Ballistics (Apple or Android)
• NOTE: Training Kestrels will be provided for use in this class
• Rifle carrier/drag bag/shooting mat combo is recommended
• ALL the manuals for your rifle, scope, etc.

Age Requirements:

1. 16 to 17 years old, welcome to take regular firearms courses alone as long as a parent or guardian is onsite; parent or guardian can be enrolled in a different course or on a different range.
2. Minimum age is 11 if taking the course with a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian MUST be the one working with the child during the entire course, and be responsible for only ONE child.
3. Children age 10 and under are not allowed.
4. Unattended minors are NOT allowed on the property. They must be escorted by a parent or guardian at all times or be enrolled in an appropriate course.
