Let me guess…you`ve attended the 4-Day Defensive Handgun and/or 2-Day Handgun Skill Builder a number of times and you still haven’t received a Distinguished Graduate certificate. Well, then this course is for you! In this 1-Day Handgun Skills Test Course you will take the 4-Day Defensive Handgun Skills Test multiple times. The goal of this course is for you to earn a Distinguished Graduate certificate so you will be prepared for more advanced training.

Advanced Courses` Prerequisite Flow Chart: Click Here

Cost: $100/day for members

Prerequisite Class(s): You must have a Graduate certificate in either the 4-Day Defensive Handgun or 2-Day Handgun Skill Builder within the previous 12 months from the start of this course.

This course is not designed to teach you the techniques we deliver in the 4-Day Defensive Handgun Course.  Nor is it designed to polish those skills.  This course is strictly designed to test those students who have received a Graduate certificate in the prior 12 months in the 4-Day Defensive Handgun or the 2-Day Handgun Skill Builder (which offers the exact same skills test).

The day will start with a modest amount of gun-handling and marksmanship exercises.  This allows you to warm up, and allows the staff to evaluate your skills.  Students who are not performing safely and efficiently at a minimum of the Graduate level will be dismissed from the course.  Again, this course is for testing, not for polishing.  If your skills are not currently at the Graduate level or higher, do not enroll in this course.  Instead, enroll in the 4-Day Defensive Handgun or 2-Day Handgun Skill Builder.

Firearm, Equipment and Ammo Requirements:

  • Go here for Handgun Requirements and Recommendations
  • “Pocket Pistols” which this facility defines as any handgun smaller than a Glock 26 (roughly 6.4" slide length and 4.2" frame height) are not allowed due to being difficult to manipulate, painful to shoot, and often less safe because the user is more likely to cover their support hand or other body parts with the muzzle. Muzzle attachments such as compensators and extended magazines do not change the overall dimensions of that weapon. We are basing our size parameters off of the factory condition of your weapon. In other words, if you added one of these items to your handgun and the size of the weapon has technically changed, does not mean that this weapon is now excluded from our pocket pistol policy.
  • Holsters must be on the belt, correctly fit the weapon, completely cover the trigger guard, remain open when the weapon is removed, not allow the weapon to cover the shooter’s body, and not have a trigger guard retention device (such as the Blackhawk Serpa model and others). NO thigh rigs, cross-draw, etc.
  • A minimum of three magazines and two single or one double magazine pouch is required. Magazine pouches worn on the belt on the side opposite the handgun. Speed loader holders worn in front of the holster.
  • Electronic hearing protection is mandatory and is available at the Pro Shop or numerous retailers.
  • Sturdy belt, hat with brim, wrap around impact resistant eye protection, loose pants, comfortable shoes or boots, etc. You will need a concealment garment in the afternoon of Day 1. (Loose shirt, vest, jacket, etc.)
